Lightstream Backyard Concert Series
Lightstream is partnering with KLBJ and Loris Lowe’s Local Licks radio show for a new concert series called LOCAL LICKS LIVE at The Haute Spot starting with this show on November 20, 2021 with local award-winning blues artist, RUTHIE FOSTER.
Lightstream is a collective of fans, artists, and industry professionals that believe in the power of music to lift up entire communities. LOCAL LICKS LIVE is a new concert series that does exactly that. This series allows us to get back to why Lightstream is here: to support local artists, rock out, and do good. Lightstream strives to make the world a better place by supporting and sharing music, from national artists to our very own homegrown ones.
“Local Licks is Austin’s longest running radio show dedicated to spotlighting Austin artists. It’s been on the air since the 80’s. And we are so thrilled to be taking our goal of spotlighting local artists, LIVE to Haute Spot in Cedar Park. And even more thrilled that the phenomenal Ruthie Foster will help us kick off the new Local Licks Live series. Ruthie is Austin royalty, and we couldn’t be happier to have her as our first artist. Join us, and show your support of Austin music. Because we’re pretty sure you love it as much as we do.” - Loris Lowe
Designated Charitable Sponsors for this event are St Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
Hadden Sayers will open the show, and JUST ANNOUNCED: the School of Rock (Round Rock) House Band will also perform a short set!
About School of Rock:
The School of Rock HOUSE BAND music program gives students under 18 the opportunity to join a gigging band composed of fellow musicians from their school. These students perform additional live shows throughout the year. All students in the Performance Program have the opportunity to audition for a spot in their school's House Band. Once selected, House Band members become leaders in their School of Rock community, and perform live shows at local rock venues throughout the year.
Rockin D 5, owners of the Round Rock and Southpark Meadows School of Rock franchises are proud to announce a collaboration with Creative Director and Deux Voix Apex Solutions CEO Bevis M Griffin to create a black music history curriculum at their schools. The collaboration, called The Deep Roots of Rock & Blues, will work with the schools’ instructors and students to enhance their current programing with a deeper understanding of African American cultural contributions to the evolution of rock & roll.
